Very exciting and challengiing topic as we tried to think through the issues of cost reduction. Is there enough cost savings in the US healthcare system through "process waste reduction"? Is the cost savings only achieved through decrease in utlization of technology? We attempted to think through the balance of these savings and how IHI may play a role in showing best practices. How can the cardiologists in Miami reach theutlization in Green Bay, WI without financial incentives? Is there a best practice to share or need there be financial reform?
